Adventures & Travels

Happy Tuesday!

I’m writing this one on my phone, from the car, in the Urbanna library parking lot.

We’re headed to DC today, but before we leave Steve needed to take a meeting at 10am, thus the reason we’re at the library. Buoy isn’t necessarily allowed in the library, so we’re hanging out in the car.

Funnily enough, my computer is so close to being dead, so there’s no way I’d be able to finish the blog before it did. Fortunately, I have a tiny computer right here (aka my phone)!

So hello!

Steve has a conference in DC tomorrow, so we’re excited to explore the city a little and visit with a college friend of mine. Another adventure ready to be had!

This past week was fun. We made all kinds of yummy food (including HOMEMADE sushi), went on a lovely sail, went dancing, and visited with family!

We’re beginning to prep for our road trip that starts in a week and a half, so there’s a whole to-do list going on right now aboard Batland. We want to finish the porthole before we leave so that we don’t have to worry about any rain getting in. Our mast is getting taken down next week in order to find a leak we’ve had trouble with, and we’re hoping to replace some lights up the mast while it’s down! We’re trying to figure out how to pack for a month of weather that can be pretty unpredictable, but we’re getting there. The exciting thing is we have new vacuum sealed bags that compress our big sweaters (and all of our clunky clothes) into nothing! So we’re able to fit a lot more in our bag than we thought.

We picked up a lot of our camping stuff yesterday from Steve’s grandparents so that we’ll be prepared for some upcoming camping trips. We may camp Thursday night after our DC trip, again on our road trip to Wisconsin, and possibly again with Steve’s sister if the weather and timing works out!

We are very excited for the trip, and it’s only a few days away!

Adventures are always fun with the people you love (and of course our four legged friend too;).

Cheers to another week and more adventures ahead!
