Wowza! It’s been a while since I wrote a blog. Honestly, I’ve missed writing these. These blogs always seem to bring me back to myself. Writing does that for me. The thing is though, I’ve had a hard time getting into it again. I am on my computer all day for work, writing technical documentation, so having the urge to get back on a computer to write more, no matter how freeing it sometimes is, can be really hard for me.

Today I felt was a good day to come back to our blog, and blurb about all the things. I’ve finished my work for the day, I’ve spent time in the sun, so it’s time to tell all of you just how life has been lately.
I haven’t posted since June 6th, which was our Greece recap, so we have a lot to catch up on.
June was wonderful. It was mainly just us trying to get back in the swing of things with work and being back on the boat. Friends came up to visit from NC and took our engagement pictures on the boat. They are INCREDIBLE (the pictures and the friends). We were so happy to show some of our favorite people around our home. Sharing things we love with people we love never gets old.

We’ve been able to spend time with BOTH sets of our parents, so that has been wonderful. Wedding planning is going well, and honestly we don’t have that much left to do. We’re just getting more and more excited for October!
July began with family and fireworks. I got a new tattoo to commemorate our boating years, and we spent some fun time with college friends of mine while back in NC. My parents threw us an engagement party and we got to spend so much time with people I don’t get to see often. It was so great and made me so happy to have so many people in one place that I adored. Steve and I felt so loved to be celebrated with people we love.

Last Wednesday, July 12th, we sailed from Norfolk to Urbanna, VA. We made it in one day this time, which was about 14 hours of sailing. This included working while underway, a quick swim break to scrub the bottom (thanks Steve), and lots of sea life viewings!

We’ve been in Urbanna almost a week now, and we loved coming back here. It’s so quiet compared to Norfolk, and has such a big community of boaters that hang out every day around 5pm. We call it “docktails”, and it doesn’t happen in Norfolk so we’ve been having a good time with new and old friends.
I’m really happy we’re out and about and finally sailing a bit more. With the both of us working, it’s been a bit more challenging to get out of the water very often, but we’re working on that.
Our plans for the rest of the summer is to leave Urbanna mid-August, travel around the Bay, make our way back to Norfolk, and then jump out to Ocean City, MD for the Ocean’s Calling festival! We have a full schedule, no doubt, because only two weeks after that we have a wedding to throw!
I can hardly believe how fast time is moving these days. It feels so close to fall, yet summer just began. It feels like Steve and I just met not long ago, but we’re getting married in three months! Time has yet to stop and all we can do is run along next to it.
The truth is, we have a lot of plans in the next year or two. However, we’re doing our best to live in the moment, every day, because time stops for no one.
I’m so incredibly grateful for this wild and wonderful life we get to live together. The big part is that we’re together, because I have a feeling that wherever we are or whatever we’re doing, it will be an adventure because it’s us.

I feel like I have so much more to say, yet so little words are coming out. Maybe next week I’ll do a better job, or maybe I’m just out of practice with this whole blogging thing. Either way, I’ll do my best to write more, if for nothing else but myself.
Cheers friends, don’t forget to find the glimmers of beauty in every day.

Nice. Btw, I am totally stealing this:
